Stand tall and take up the scepter of the conqueror. As we journey through this real and farce rendition of the origin of Saint Valentine's Day invigorate your taste buds for those treats that pays homage to Saint Valentine and the mischievous flying child – Cupid.

According to truth and record three men were martyred according to Roman Catholic tradition all of whom were named Saint Valentine. One report has Saint Valentine, a Roman priest, secretly unifying soldier men and their women lovers thus defying the decree of Emperor Claudius II that his fighting army was not to have married men in it. Death became his punishment by the said Claudius. Another says he was put to death for helping incarcerated Christians escape from brutal Roman prisons. It is also suggested that he sent the first Valentine card to a young lady of his infatuation while he was in prison. Whatever truth lies in these and other reports it can be undeniably said that Saint Valentine was a man of love and compassion.

Let us reveal the real, yet farce, story behind the legacy of Saint Valentine's Day. Upon the death of Saint Valentine the mission of love was eternally placed upon him. Thus as a spirit he chose an avatar which all of mankind would know him by. From the ceremonies held in the halls of Olympus Valentine was struck by Zeus's rod of lightning which fused his being into the chosen avatar. Since his death man has felt the sting of love and the crash of heartbreak. Yet and notwithstanding, love is forever depicted by the heart being shot with an arrow by none other – Cupid. Yes, that mischievous little midget with wings is the embodiment of the spirit of Saint Valentine. It is his token to the world that love must go on.

Thereafter and once upon a time there was a man named Valentine who transformed himself into a winged child upon his death and named himself Cupid. Armed with the bow and arrow of love he swept the earth with unmatched efficiency, motive and determination. When the powers of darkness, Emperor Sauerkraut of Bermuda Bottoms, crept in and made war with Cupid a new strategy was pursued. From the five corners of the earth Cupid collected the sacred cocoa bean stones and named them each Ghirardelli, Wonka, Russell Stover, Whitman's and Cella's. After breathing ultimate life into these stones they each went forth and produced armies after their kind. The wheels of industry ensued. Cannonballs of chocolate covered cherries were manifest from the belly of Whitman's. Deadly arrows of milk chocolate were formed from the ovens of Russel Stover. Great tanks of chocolate gift baskets rolled off the planks of Ghirardelli. Plumes of molten chocolate fondue sprang forth from the springs of Wonka. All this and much more added to the inflating armies of Cupid. Then came the Rapture of Ambrosia. Gods and goddesses, mortals and immortals alike locked in a battle of love.

To this day the battle rages on. From the innocence of Saint Valentine, compassion sounded forth as a trump as expressed endearing love and infatuation from one to another. Lo, the imps of Emperor Sauerkraut of Bermuda Bottoms are hard at work to make many feel the sting and pain of love. The crushing woes of broken love are but small triumphs for the Emperor. Do we shutter or do we reach out and take the chance? Do we throw caution to the wind and send a Valentine's Day card to an unsuspecting angel?

It's highly important to foster a friendly atmosphere in the office or workplace. For your Valentine's Day get a corporate chocolate gift for all to enjoy. The soothing lexer will heal all wounds and ill feelings of each other. Choose among the best gourmet chocolates to remember you by. Just like your sweetheart – sweets go hand in hand with Valentine's Day. Entice them with epic story of the holiday.

So as you prepare your next corporate party or office party relay this story of the origin of St. Valentine's Day to them. Tell them the struggles between Cupid and Emperor Sauerkraut. This story, though totally fabricated, will only add to the Valentine's Day cards, chocolates and gift baskets. Plan it carefully and with intent. Have your chocolate delivered. Delivered chocolate and gift baskets are a paramount piece of the puzzle to a successful Valentine's Day.

How do we win the war that was started so long ago? Shall we do all we can to dodge the arrows of love on a trajectory toward our heart or should we let them sting and rise triumphant above it? May the blessings of Saint Valentine shower upon you as true love may open the way to your own eternal life. Place Emperor Sauerkraut under your foot and put that secret Valentine in the box.

The only importance valentines day holds for me is the opportunity to taste the deliciousness of creamy delicious dark bitter-sweet chocolate, melting across my tastebuds and palate.
